National drink status sought for indian tea
The tact that coffee is increasingly becoming the flavor of choice is not being taken well by tea aficionados. Famous Mumbai-based ad man Prahlad Kakkar expressed this view freely at a recent event to promote tea as a drink of choice. “Even though tea is lot more subtle and varied than coffee it is losing out because the younger generation is adapting to the latter and tea is not promoted sufficiently.” Said kakkar.
Adding to this view Deepak Jain, Founder and managing director, Dlecta Food, sai that the drink is not only India’s favourite workers, small growers and consumers.
“Tea is our heritage and should be promoted as the national drink of India.” Sai Kakkar at a event organized to draw the attention of the government and citizen on global tea trade.
